Lisa Maki embraced the call of God in her life when she got saved in 2001. Prior to that, she was a divorced, single mom of two boys, managing her own consulting business. Her first ministry involvement was a volunteer work in church, followed by a full-time job as Communications Director and Head of the Women’s Ministry. From there she founded a ministry for hurting women: the successful ones of the corporate sector, and the less privileged ones in prison.
Lisa was very content being single until God stirred up her heart for her promised man. It was a long waiting time, a long-distance relationship that tested and stretched her faith. After the long and tiring wait, Lisa was finally married in 2007. As if that was not enough, she had to wait for another year before she was able to leave her native land, the Philippines, and move to the U.S. to be with her American husband.
Together, they started the God’z Gang church – a place for those who can’t find their fit in churches. Realizing that they needed to spend time for their marriage first, the couple decided to close the church building after a year of operations. They continued to do online and street ministry while working on their new marriage.
Lisa is currently self-employed as a Professional Writer. Her writing services include: Résumé, Business Plan, Proposal, Website Content, Editing jobs, Book Writing & Publishing Assistance, Newsletter, and other writing requirements.
Lisa is the founder of God’z Gurlz, a Bible-based online magazine for women. She does free online counseling for women, and mentors a few who are serious about their walk with God.
